How it Works

1

In-Person Consultation

Face-to-face time is essential to start developing a connection between tutor and student.

Lillian, the student and parent meet to discuss needs, goals and scheduling. During the meeting, Lillian will have the student answer questions in writing and orally to assess the student’s literacy status. The frequency of tutoring will be discussed. Many students and parents choose weekly sessions.

The consultation lasts 60-90 minutes.

2

The Tutoring Program

Prior to the first tutoring session, Lillian will create a custom plan for the student. There will be adjustments along the way, but this initial plan, based on the student and parent's input from the consultation, will be the cornerstone of the program. Lillian's passion and love for words will spark the student's interest and help them reach their full potential.

In-person or virtual, usually weekly.

High School Only: College Essay Prep

Exclusively for high schoolers, Lillian offers a course to help students create and perfect their college entrance essays and open-ended responses to a high level of literacy. Lillian has successfully taught, tutored and mentored many college-bound high school students. Her experience in this area has helped many students get accepted into the colleges of their choosing.

Can be offered as a stand-alone course.
